Mentorships

The Northern Rivers Writers' Centre is offering a mentorship scheme for members who would like professional assistance with their writing. The scheme offers one-to-one supervision and discussion of a member's work with an experienced, established writer or editor. The Centre has compiled a register of experienced writers and editors from within the region.

Mentees will nominate a 5hr, 10hr, 15hr or 20hr mentorship. This includes reading time, email correspondence and face to face time. As a fee for service scheme, the mentee will make payment through the Writers' Centre at $50/1 hr for the writer + 10% admin fee + GST.

The success of mentorships in terms of writer development and improving publishing opportunities is astonishing and we are thrilled to offer this scheme to our Members.

Whilst this scheme will provide emerging writers with a chance to develop it will also provide employment opportunities for the writing professionals living in the area. If you are a writer or an industry professional with suitable skills or experience and wish to be included as a mentor we ask you to contact us.

Any member interested in undertaking a mentorship will need to complete an Application for Mentorship form available from the Centre. There is no deadline for application as the scheme is ongoing. If you require advice on potential mentors or other aspects of your work, please phone the Centre for an appointment.
